Event programme

2nd October
Event delegate registration and event reception drinks at the York Racecourse from 2- 5pm, giving delegates a preview of the wide array of exhibition stands, whilst making the most of the networking opportunity and delicious refreshments. All delegates who register at this event, will be entered into a prize draw to win a cabinet box of Hotel Chocolat, worth £70! There is no need to book in advance, just turn up and collect your name badge and join us for tea and cake. Exclusive evening function at The Guildhall, St Martins Courtyard, Coney St, York YO1 9QL.
3rd October
Day one of the Symposium held at the York Racecourse, featuring keynote speakers: technical and scientific sessions. Symposium registration will start at 8:30 am and will end at 5pm. Exclusive evening dinner held at Merchant Adventurers' Hall, Fossgate starting at 7pm.
4th October
Day two of the Symposium held at the York Racecourse, featuring keynote speakers, technical and scientific sessions. Registration starting at 8:30am and the event closes at 5pm. Gala Dinner and Award Ceremony and speakers at York Racecourse to conclude a fantastic conference, starting at 7pm
5th October
British Carrot Growers Association demonstration day hosted by Huntapac, Sherburn, Malton. Opportunity to view the latest varieties from across the UK and across the world as well as the chance to view innovative new products trials. Variety trials from Vilmorin-Mikado, Hazera Seeds UK Ltd, Agri Seeds, Rijk Zwaan, Bayer/Seminis, Elsoms, Bejo and Nunhems/BASF Agronomy trials from Biocore Agri, Bayer CropScience, BASF and Agronomy Connection. Transportation can be booked to take you from York to the demonstration day site.

Event dinners

The Guildhall
2nd October- Join us for an evening of socialising with a selection of gourmet street food, held at the stunning York Guildhall. The evening starts at 7pm with food served from 7:30pm. Dress code: smart/casual
The Merchant Adventurers' Hall
3rd October- You are invited to an exclusive evening three-course meal at the historic Merchant Adventurers Hall. The event starts at 7pm with food commencing service at 8pm. After Dinner speaker Dan Parker joins the event to share insight into promotional campaign Veg Power. Dress code: smart.
York Racecourse
4 October -the Symposium will be concluded with the Gala Dinner, a fantastic way to celebrate the end of the 2023 Symposium. The Dinner starts at 7pm at the York racecourse and the three course meal starts at 8pm. The meal will be concluded with an after dinner speaker, soon to be announced. Dress code: smart.

Event transport

Coach
If you have booked coach transportation for the Symposium this will depart from the Memorial Gardens, YO26 4ZF (What3Words: ///fame.socket.older) at 8:00 on 2 October and 3 October and leave the racecourse at 16:30 on 2 October and 17:00 on 3 October. The coach transport for the Gala Dinner will depart from the Memorial Gardens, YO26 4ZF (What3Words: ///fame.socket.older) at 18:45 on 4 October and leave the racecourse at 23:00. Transport for the BCGA Demo Day will depart from the Memorial Gardens, YO26 4ZF (What3Words: ///fame.socket.older) at 8:45 on 5 October and leave the BCGA Demo Day at 14:30. There will be a Tractor and Trailer ride from the coach drop off to the main site, alternatively this is approximately a 15-minute walk. Book your transport now

Driving
There is plenty of parking available at the Racecourse, the post code is YO23 1EX.
Walking
The route from the train station to the Racecourse is simple and will take you approximately 30 minutes.
